Before there were TikToks, IGs, Facebooks, or even Myspace, maybe even Friendster (yes we are really dating ourselves name dropping Friendster) there was our beacon in the dark known as DC Raves. What we have come to know as a thread today or newsfeed were once email lists that we could all comment and share information about what was going down so we could clown all weekend from a club in the heart of the city to some secluded field outlaw event in the woods hours away. The DC Raves list was how we found the grooves to make moves if one wasn’t lucky enough to get personally handed a flyer.
