Vixen Stylee: Interview
Vixen Stylee: (Geishaz / Rolled Up Records) Florida, USA
Facebook / Instagram / Soundcloud
Hailing from Titusville, FL, Vixen Stylee has spent the last two decades weaving her voice and vision into the fabric of the drum and bass scene. A member of the Geishaz collective since 2023, and affiliated with Orlando’s iconic Torque DnB crew, she’s a powerhouse on the mic and the decks. With a track on Rolled Up Records via Reflections and a sound that spans liquid, jungle, dancefloor, and heavy hitters, Vixen brings both heart and heat to every set.
Her journey began long before the rave — singing in church choirs and school choruses, stealing spotlight after spotlight at honor roll ceremonies. But it was in 2002, after hearing a Dieselboy CD and attending her first Ultra Music Festival, that she locked into the sounds of drum and bass and never let go. By 19, she was learning the craft of DJing and later took the mic in 2006, evolving into an MC with undeniable presence. Her performances are as soulful as they are electrifying — rooted in her musical upbringing and driven by a love for DnB that runs deep.

Vixen Stylee answered a few questions for Joanna O. ahead of her radio guest mix this Saturday.
Check it out!
JO: How did you get started DJing?
VS: I started DJing in 2004, after falling in love with the scene a year before. Watching DJs at shows lit a fire in me — I knew I wanted to do that. A boyfriend at the time taught me on breaks, but I was drawn to drum and bass. He connected me with a friend who lent me records to practice on, and from there I started building my own collection.
JO: Who are your current favorite artists and labels?
VS: Carlito, hands down — his liquid on V Recordings is gorgeous. L-Side is another favorite; his track “Heavy Quarter” with MC Bassman hits hard and blends beautifully. And Taxman — always heavy, and always on fire. He’s got his own label now, TXM Recordings, after Playaz.
JO: What gear do you use?
VS: I still spin vinyl on my turntables at home, but I’m versatile — CDJs, controllers, Rekordbox, Traktor, Serato, and Pioneer. I can play on just about anything.
JO: Best gig you’ve played?
VS: Definitely my set at JaxDNB’s Myth Nightclub takeover in Jacksonville. The terrace was packed from start to finish — people were dancing hard, vibing with every track. It wasn’t just DnB heads; we had folks in town for the football game who came out to party, and they got it. The set was filmed and posted on the JaxDNB YouTube and on my platforms — unforgettable night.
JO: Advice for new DJs?
VS: It’s all about the vibe — your passion, track selection, and love for the music. Practice is everything. And don’t sleep on networking — connections and hustle matter just as much as skill.
